Pyramid Events is preparing an upcoming Trash Fishing Endangered Salamander Fundraiser to raise funds for the endangered salamanders at Zilker Park.
Austin’s waterways are part of one living system. What we remove from Town Lake today is pollution that cannot travel farther downstream. This event turns direct environmental action into a spirited community challenge, bringing people together to care for the water and help protect one of the city’s most vulnerable native species.
Entry will cost $15. Participants will have three hours to collect as much trash as possible from Town Lake. The competitor who removes the most trash will win a $100 cash prize.
DJs will provide the soundtrack, and local vendors will be part of the gathering—making the competition equal parts cleanup, fundraiser, and celebration of the Austin community.
