02 / THE PHOENIX TOTEM
REGENERATION IS A PRACTICE
What we choose,
we become.
The Phoenix is a Totem reminding us that we may regenerate ourselves—and, in doing so, regenerate the world.
We practice this regeneration by intentionally choosing the thoughts, words, and actions we engage in. We ask whether each is an aid or a hindrance in discovering and expressing our true will, continually refining our understanding and behavior in relation to ourselves and the world.
03 / THE PHOENIX RITE
Form returns to fire.
Intention takes form.
The offering
The Phoenix Rite draws on the symbolism of an effigy burn: we sacrifice a form built together to the formless creative energy of the universe, enlivening our creative potential.
The union
Water used to wash away a chalk mural is mixed with the embers of the effigy, honoring and consummating a Divine Marriage between Archetypal Masculine and Feminine principles—Yin and Yang.
The rebuilding
From the remnants of this Divine Marriage, we rebuild the Phoenix while focusing intently on what we wish to build for ourselves and our community—as if it has already happened. This is sacred spiritual ceremony.
The drawing forth
As we draw on the black chalkboard, we do so intentionally and intently, as if drawing ideas into creation within our own experience of the universe. This, too, is sacred spiritual ceremony.
04 / THE INVOCATION
Truth beyond words to inspire our minds.
Divine Love to fill our Hearts.
When the Phoenix Rite is celebrated, our spirit guides and higher potential are called upon to lead us to our true will. The Intelligences presiding over the truth behind the spiritual traditions of the ages are called upon to bring order and balance to the world—one community at a time.
All intention and Magickal energy behind this ceremony is grounded in science and concrete action toward sustainable living as a planet.
